Youth Mobility Scheme

The Indian young professional’s scheme

The UK-India Young Professionals Scheme will provide Indians to work and live in the United Kingdom for up to two years. It will benefit 3,000 degree-holding Indians aged 18 to 30 years. This scheme will be implemented from early 2023 on a reciprocal basis. It was launched by the United Kingdom amid the huge labour shortages in the country.

How it works?

  • YMS Conducts every year 2 times mostly in January and July with only upto 3000 applications in a year.
  • You can live and work in the UK for upto 2 years.
  • Only candidates between 18 to 30 can apply
  • Only graduates can apply for this scheme.
  • YMS is a ballot entry visa scheme.

REQUIREMENTS TO APPLY

  • Candidates aged between 18 to 30 can only apply
  • Candidates should have £ 2530/- (approx. Rs 2,42,000/-) bank balance
  • Only graduates equivalents to RQF level 6 or a minimum of three years of work experience in a job that is equivalent to an eligible occupation contained in the skilled occupation list. This list is produced by the UK government. evidence of work experience is required.

INDIA SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS

  • Have been issued with an invitation to apply to the youth mobility scheme
  • Have made your application within the period specified on that invitation
  • Provide the unique application number for that invitation to apply
  • Provide a local police clearance certificate that has been issued no more than 6 months before the date of your application
  • Degree certificate or qualification equal to RQF level 6

HOW TO ENTER THE BALLOT?

Ballots typically open in January and July each year. Enter the ballot by sending an e-mail. Only one ballot entry is submitted per person. Ballots will be open for 48 hours. All e-mails received within these 48 hours will be entered into the ballot. You will get an automated reply confirming your entry. Most of the applicants are mostly selected in the January batch remaining will be selected in the July batch.

IF YOU ARE SELECTED FOR THE BALLOT
  • You have 30 days to submit your application and pay once you’ve received your e-mail.
  • After you pay you’ve 90 days’ time to book an appointment at the visa application center where you will give your fingerprints and photographs.
  • After attending for appointment at the visa processing center you will receive the decision on the visa within 3 weeks.
  • If your application is successful, you have 90 days’ time to enter the UK.
  • If you cannot enter the UK within these 90 days your visa will get expired, and you will have to apply for an extension since visa expiry cannot be changed.
IF YOU ARE NOT SELECTED FOR THE BALLOT
  • You will receive an e-mail within 2 weeks of the ballot closing
  • You can apply in the next slot if you meet the eligibility requirements.
